What is a Resume?

A resume or curriculum vitae also commonly abbreviated to CV - translated by a english dictionary is: "a brief account of a person's education, qualifications, and previous experience, typically sent with a job application”.

While this is essentially true you should view your resume as more than a sales brochure selling you and your experiences.

Therefore you need carful consideration in the writing style and presentation when constructing your resume to ensure that you have the best chance of getting the job you want.

A resume is not an autobiography and again simply writing a list of the things you have done and a list a things of the things you know will not ensure you get an interview or the job you want.

So having a resume with too much detail and or to little may be the reason your resume does not get a second glance, interview and therefore no chance at getting the job.

You should consider your resume as a tool and its primary objective is to get you into the interview room.
